Zone3-1. Science Confirms Traditional Wisdom
Increasing awareness of using natural products for healthcare has led to scientific investigations to prove the efficacy of existing herbal wisdom and to discover new findings related to the medicinal and other properties of herbs. Research and development has been done on herbs in foreign countries and has produced various forms of products, including new medicines. On the other hand, Thai herbs and those Thai traditional recipes, still require scientific confirmation, namely quality control, animal testing and clinical trials that prove the effectiveness of the healing action of each type of herbs.
Researchers at Mahidol University have studied a wide range of herbs and Thai traditional recipes to prove their effectiveness scientifically, which will lead to the development of clinically-tested, medicinal products in the future.
